Software as a service (SaaS)
SaaS, also referred to as on-demand software, is a business-to-business service, whereby software and data are hosted on a shared infrastructure that is accessed by users via a web browser.
The SaaS model is based on the following:
• Remote access to web application.
• A single software application is used by multiple clients.
• Technical support and updates are provided by the service provider for a monthly or annual subscription fee.
